About cropping, zoom lenses and changing focal length...
Please, remember that the focal length will not really change the perpective
in the picture. Only moving the camera to another location will. So, when
you need another pespective, you'll have to move anyway, wheater you are
using a zoom or not. The zoom lens does not mean lazyness as far moving
around is concerned, only as far as changing lenses.
BTW: Cropping could mean something like harvesting, right? Cropping pictures
is cutting them down to what is essential, what you really want to show, to
the "cream of the crop"!
