Butch,

Thanks. It took a while for me to locate it though. There was no mention
of it in all the periodicals and a web search was unsuccessful. On a whim I
checked with Sandisk and found out that at least they made one. All the
readers I had seen had USB interface with the computer. I prefer not using
the camera to download - save battery power. I use an adapter when reading
compactflash.

I know that I will eventually need a laptop dedicated to photography when I
end up getting a DSLR - hopefully a *ist D. It is good to know that what is
out there now will still suit me later, so it should be less expensive then.

But Butch don't worry about needing excuses for buying a laptop, if I need
enablement I will turn to you first :-)

-- If your work laptop has a PCMIA slot you should be able to
-- buy a PCMIA/SSD
-- adapter fairly reasonably. This would allow you to read the
-- card without
-- having to use the camera to connect. Of course, if this is
-- an excuse to buy
-- a laptop, never let it be said that I tried to dissuade
-- ennoblement. :)
