Dear all,

The TTL sensor should be located at the rear of the prism light path, usually near the viewfinder eyepiece. That's what it is arranged in 645N, Minolta Dynax 5 as shown on my catalogues. In some diagrams shown on the book named "Pentax Collection" by Asahi Published, the TTL sensor of MZ-5N and MZ-7 is again located at the rear of the mirror-prism, just above the eyepiece of the viewfinder.

The sensors located at the bottom of the mirror box in MZ-series (including MZ-S)are the AF-sensor and Flash TTL sensor.

Regards,

Henry

Good stuff indeed.
Minor quibble: The statement on
http://digilander.libero.it/aohc/pshw2003/monte.htm "It looks like the
*ist D (right) has TTL meter cell on left side of mirror box, just like
the Super A (left), and unlike the MZ-S (center)." Might be interpreted
by some to mean that the MZ-S doesn't have a meter cell in the mirror
box. (It does, of course - it's just on the bottom of the mirror box
rather than the side.)
