This is great news.  Since they are not longer useful for PJ's or
marketing, there is a real chance Pentax will finally release one.8^)

Seriously, I think this post is dead on.  There is a very small subset
of "image takers/makers" that want the ultimate image quality, primarily
the LF folks.  The rest of us make some trade-off, albeit for good
reasons, e.g., I don't make enlargements big enough, etc.   With
digital, the market "sweet spot" has shifted toward lower quality images
because of other advantages.  It's done this before, don't forget, i.e.,
when 35 mm was introduced.
