I suspected as much. Canon makes such a big deal about the fact that they manufacture the CMOS sensors for their other DSLR's but they've kept quite about their one camera that uses a CCD. >He did not say a thing about who makes it (he probably >knows but is not telling. Why is it such a big deal?! :-). I don't think that who makes it is a big deal at all. The fact that they don't make it themselves is kind of interesting but hardly surprising. >He also said that Canon "in principle" would be going more toward CCD for >their top end DSLRs. Hmmm? Sounds like CCD is becoming cheaper, of higher >performance, less power consuming and all the good stuff, perhaps? It's an arms race. I expect CCD and CMOS to go back and forth in the cost/performance race for a while yet :-) -- Mark Roberts Photography and writing www.robertstech.com
