The 1.5 mag factor of the istD screws everything
up especially the zooms.

Pentax didnt make a non-fisheye 16mm and using
it on the istD you would end up with a semi=fisheye
which would be of very little use. You need the
15mm rectilinear, but it's a costly beast.
