To get this on topic again: I've got an old K-1000 body attached to my electron microscope (Camscan CS4 SEM with EDX & WDX). Would it be a wise idea to replace this with an *ist-D ? :-)
Yes, especially if you need to replace the whole microscope with a new Kaf3 mount one.
