Well, it's time for my family's vacation, and this time our destination is
Washington, D.C. Never having been there myself, I have a few questions of
any of you who might have gone and seen the usual sights. Is photography of
ANY kind allowed in the White House? How about the Capitol? I'm especially
concerned about photography in the Smithsonian -- I plan to spend much time
worshipping the Hope Diamond (sigh -- something I can blow up and hang on my
office wall ...). If there's photography allowed, is flash allowed? Aside
from the usual well-known monuments and buildings, is there anything in the
area that's somewhat off the beaten path, but definitely worth seeing? We
will be staying in Alexandria, Virginia.
