Well, I did some "testing" myself, i.e. shooting side by side with cavewoman, same time, same place. Her shots look spontaneous and fresh. Mine look heavy, elaborate and boring. I try to beat her with longer lenses and getting details and abstracts. I can succeed at that - she avoids long focals (but that's because of camera shake and she won't ever bother with tripods; I suspect she'd beat me there too if she had an IS lens; but shhh don't tell her).
