Wendy, in the likely event that you have to order, why not just
do that and order a cheapo rubber hood to tide you over?  I've had
good luck with the new Hoya folding rubber hoods (they fold into
three different positions for wide/mid/tele) and they're only about
40% more cost than generic rubber hoods at the local camera store.
