This years market for DSLR's will probably reach 1 million. Extremely few of this one million buyers sits on many lenses. Even fewer sits on many Pentax lenses. Even fewer of those sits on more than 20 year old Pentax lenses. Even fewer of those who do will buy a digital slr. And few of those who does will insist on using these lenses on the DSLR.
I'm not saying limited compatibility is nice. It is bad. But it is understandable. The market is exploding an theres a whole new ballgame and whole new set of customers.
Assuming the figure is accurate, the demand for film must still be huge since old time users are still sticking with their old film based gears. Or they just dumped everything for digial?
