I've belonged to two clubs over the past while, and both had their good points and bad points. One was a group much like the regular PUG submitters in primary interest, though we are much better.. Mostly landscape shooters, with a smattering of portrait and bug photographers. They were a pretty decent bunch, though not especially dynamic, and terribly hung up on equipment. I got bored with them and drifted away..... to the second club. Which was a bunch of people who also drifted away from the first club because they were boring. This club is incredibly active, they meet twice a month, and they have two organized shooting events twice a month also. I stayed with them for quite a while, then my work/ teaching/ home situation got too hectic and I had to drop out. I keep meaning to get back with them, they are a dynamic and diverse group, interested in photography and how to get pictures. They are not really interested in cameras, regarding the things the same way a carpenter regards a hammer. They have their favourites, but they figure that any good hammer can pound a nail straight.
