I have this lens, along with the Sigma 28-105 2.4/4. The Sigma is lousy -- very soft, noticeable even on 4x6 photos -- really. The Pentax is a small, compact lens. Quality of images seems to be -- so far -- quite good. Very impressed with the color rendition.
I still think my older 28-70 F/4 is the sharpest, however. Also, that lens was *my* first experience with a Vietnam-made Pentax lens. For the money, the 28-105 is fine; the 28-70 is sharper, I think; truly best-of-breed for the coin. And I have hear that the old powerzoom 28-105 was the best 28-105 from Pentax. They can still be found new, but they are pricey. The Tamron-made 28-105 (funny-hood model) supposedly sucked. What I want is that 85 1.4... that is on the wish list. Pete
