Sears 50/1.7?

I picked up one of these when I bought the Spotmatic at a local pawnshop
(why a K-mount lens was included with a Spotmatic defies reason).  It seems
to be a M lens, (no contacts).  Does anyone know whether this lens has a
loud bark or not, or is it a good puppy?
