That's very sweet of your daughter. At around the same age,
I was given by my grand father an SP with 55/1.8 and
135/3.5. Before that, I've got an Olympus Pen, so I had a
little knowledge about photography. I can't forget the
surprise and joy when I first got the SLR!!
I don't know the price range of your place, but an SP or
and SV will do her, I suppose. In Japan, they sell at
around JPY10,000 (USD83).
I think kids should be given an excellent tool, because it
will extend their ability and insight. In that sense, an
SP (metered) or an SV (full manual) will be perfect. My
first SP influenced me much.
