Sorry, the *istD is supposed to come with the new FAJ 18-35. Peter over in
England has already posted prices and photos of that lens. Yes, the lens is
pretty much a consumer zoom, but it is way, way cheaper than the
competition. Doug's comment ment that to compare them you would have to add
that $1300 you mentioned to the $1500 for a 10D. Even if it did not, the FAJ
is only in the $250 price range.

Also, I think the Pentax 17-28 you mentioned is a fisheye zoom, a somewhat
unique product.
