I suppose it's been highlighted here before but I'm just rejoining the
list. I've owned a K-1000 since the early 80's. Except for lack of a
self timer, it's a K-mount version of the classic Spotmatic which I
loved so much. I know later K-1000 versions were manufactured in either
Korea or Taiwan. I see some minor differences in some auction photos,
mainly mine has the Asahi logo and the name Asahi on the pentaprism
while some do not. Are the samples sans the logo/name the non-Japanese
versions?
I assume my Japanese version has metal top/bottom plates while the later
versions may not. Any other significant changes?
FWIW, I also own an MX and a Super Program, complete with winder and
motor respectively but I still enjoy taking the K-1000 out. I doubt
I'll ever get rid of it.
I just changed over to digest mode so if you could reply both directly
to me and the list I'd appreciate it.
TIA,
Steve Scott - a long time yet casual Pentax user
