Thanks to all of youse - This is what I did loaded AHEAD then formatted a CDRW ( I had tried that before but apparently had not completed the process) During the formatting process, the wizard on the screen told me I could then use the CD as a floppy. After it finished going through its paces, I went into DOS on my c drive, selecting a directory with none nested in it and did the old Copy *.* e: neat as you please.... THen went to another directory and did the same. (We don't need no stinkin' directories :) ) Volla! I can do it and do it in my beloved DOS. Backup heaven.
BUt I guess I have to start again for burning a CD_R, right? annsan the happy (now about to watch WEST WING reruns (I never saw the first few episodes)
