 I thought Pentax was still making the SMC-A 15mm f/3.5.  If not, there must 
still be a fair bit of old stock sitting around as last time I looked they were 
available from B+H.

 I have never seen a need for AF at 15mm, but that's just my experience.  I 
rarely need AF with the 24mm.

 I'd go for a 400mm f/4.0.  F/3.5 is only half a stop slower than f/2.8 and will 
thus probably remain heavy and expensive.  An f/4.0 lens would probably 
remain handholdable and reasonably affordable, while giving a decent amount 
of speed (even allowing a 1.4x TC with AF coupling, if one existed).
