Boris,

The Soft lenses are unique in that they aren't open aperture viewing
until you dial to the end of the soft effect (about f8).  This gives
you the ability to see the softening effect and to be able to focus
well by stopping down.  They function properly on *ist and *ist D.
Once you get the lens, you will see what I mean.
