While I haven't used my FA 35/2 on a manual focus body yet, it's the one FA lens I have that I would use on a manual body. It does have a better-feeling focusing ring and is quite decently damped for an autofocus lens. It even has a better manual focusing feel than a few well-used A lenses I've had in the past few years.

I do prefer M and K series lenses on my MXes, and I would use the M 35/2 I have on an MX instead of the FA in just about any situation. But since I recently re-acquired a Super Program, using the FA 35/2 on the Super Program would let me use it in program or shutter priority mode, so I would consider that.

... Unless anyone has an SMC-A 35mm f/2 lens for sale -- it rarely comes up on eBay or at KEH/Adorama/B&H. If you have one for sale, I'd be interested! ;-)

> I haven't used this specific lens but I have used the FA 28/2.8AL (which
is mechanically very similar - I'm assuming you're wondering about
manual focus feel, etc.) on my MX frequently.

I didn't like the feel of the FA 28/2.8 on my MX.

I have no issues with the narrow focusing ring on the FA
 lenses.

On the FA 35/2 the focusing ring is twice the size of the focusing ring of the FA 28/2.8 or FA 50/1.4. Also, it's pretty well damped (definitely better than the FA 28/2.8). I played with it for a while when Sylwek had bought one, but didn't actually think about getting one because I had no money then. I'm a bit worried about the short focus throw (from the pictures at Boz's site I gather it ends at 2m and doesn't seem to be long).

If you get it I'd like to know your impressions of the 35/2.0 lens.
Others have had very favorable reports.

If I finally buy it, I'm sure gonna get back to you :-)

Lukasz
