Once you've used one you'll know the answer to that question. I find it impossible to part with mine, even though for the last five years I've been mostly using auto-focus. There have been times when I've taken an MX along as backup, and been very glad I did; modern all-electronic cameras don't work too well in torrential rain. My original MX has served me well for over 25 years, with only one failure (when I stressed things by adding the 5fps motor drive the manual shutter release jammed). This despite the fact that the early models are supposed to be less reliable than the later ones.
