I truly enjoy its compactness. This is the main reason I ended up trying out the Pentax line when I got involved with 35mm photography.
The LX is my favorite camera, but the MX with its total mechanical design is a dream. Now that mine has been CLAd I will be taking it out more often. Hmmm, I can fit an LX, MX, *istD, and maybe even an MZ-S in my fanny pack - with the 24/2, 31/1.8, and 77/1.8...
