I think all the Pentax wide hoods from the K era are large and rectangular. When I recently got a K 24/2.8 (52mm filter thread), I read some PDML comments from a few years back that highly recommended the Sigma wide angle hoods (called "Sigma Perfect Hood") that can be found in a number of sizes. They're tulip shaped, clamp into the filter threads nicely and do a very nice job. They're also far less bulky than the large rectangular hoods Pentax had for their own lenses.

I got one in the 52mm size. Here's a link to a completed eBay auction for another 52mm size one:

I think you need one that's a 58mm size; I'm pretty sure I saw a Sigma wide hood in that size when I was looking for mine. Keep looking -- although not Pentax, I think it's a good match for the lenses, quite cheap, and likely a better choice than the Pentax hoods (and supposedly more effective)!

Hi,

Does anyone have the hood for the K24/3.5? Is that similar/the same as
a current one?

Thanks,
Kostas
