These are all good points.The most critical one is the use of non-A
lenses, which has been discussed in great detail on the list with regard
to the *ist D.

there are four drawbacks that i have encountered:

1) can't use pre-A lenses without resorting to tricks or an external
meter
2) no power zoom - matters only if you bought lenses that have it and
actually use it
3) pentamirror - less bright than pentaprism
4) forgets auto-bracketing setting when turned off
