It's the same sensor, no? New D100s being manufactured today don't offer improved sensors over those in the first production models. Sure, I'd like to see a new state-of-the art sensor. but that would mean changes to the design, leading to a camera that's even later (and more expensive too, no doubt). Come to that, I'd like a sensor that does a genuine 3k x 2k a la Canon, not the slightly smaller image area of the Sony sensor (3008 x 2000). I don't know why I think that extra 2% is important; maybe it's becuase I'm still thinking like a bit-twiddler.
