So I pulled the winder off, whacked it around a bit, looked inside, then popped it back on the camera. Tried the wind lever on the camera, heard something click in the winder and lo and behold, it works again. Who knows why, but I'm not messing with it again.

I recently got a new (to me) Winder MEII, which appeared to work fine for a while. Today, when I try to use it I'm having some difficultly. Pressing the shutter button on the winder will activate the meter in either my ME super or my Super Program, but it won't actually fire the shutter or wind the film.
Are there any obvious pitfalls I might be encountering?

If the problem exists only when the film was loaded, you can lubricant the rewind shaft (less than a drop of oil applied on the shaft will do). If the problem exists without film, you might open the top end of the grip and clean the contacts.
