Raimo,
6400km on a motorcycle?
Take a Pentax PC35AF along... old but good quality.

Im back from my little Moto Guzzi motorcycling vacation - the turning point was Cracow, ...during the trip my only camera was the trusty Rollei 35 S which turned out to be not so trusty: the button which releases the lens to retract dropped off in Cracow, never to be found. I could take photos but the lens would not retract (but when motorcycling I tend to make very few photographs).
Im thinking I need a new camera for such trips. Perhaps the new Pentax compact which has the 24-105 lens? Opinions?

With the original all-metal (well... almost) PC35AF, you have exposure control on AE with 1/3 of stop precision using the manual asa setting, and the camera takes 2 AAA batteries!

PC35AF-M has a noisy motor you can't turn off, DX coding and ugly all-plastic casing.

Their Pentax 35mm 2.8 should probably be given a bronze medal (gold and silver being given by everybody to Olympus Mju II and Yashica Ts lenses, or vis versa).
