I have a cable release and didn't want to pay $30+ dollars for another,
so during a slow time at my desk at the office, I tried something I though i
had remembered reading.

I found a extra cable that come with mnay CDrom or sound cards that has the
4 connector/3 wire for moving sound from CDrom to computer/sound card. I
adjusted one end so all three wire were next to each other, instead of have
a space btween one of them. Then I used a pair of cutter and cut off the
extra hole, to make it a 3 hole/3 wire on that end.
I then got an exacto knife (since I didn't have a file handy) and shaved the
appropriate corner and the thing fit in my SF1x like a charm. I then popped
the wire out of the other ends to see what would happen.

Top/Bottom - focus/meter (equal to 1/2 shutter button depress)
Top/Middle - fired the shutter (even if not in focus)

I need to visit RadioShack and make a switch no for the other end.
Does anyone know the trip to fire the shutter only when in focus.
Is it a 3 combined setup?
