If you have used these lens, which is your favorite and why. I am going to purchase one of these in the next fourteen days. The use is candid portraits in existing light using black & white film.
I like the 77 more simply because overall it is a sharper and higher contrast lens. It also balance better due to its compact size & weight, and particular important for slow shutter speed handheld. The problem of the FA*85/1.4 is its optical performance near infinity. If you do portrait only between 1.5-3 metres, it's a fine lens. But I would try to stay with f4 or smaller aperture with this lens whenever possible.
