As I have mentioned on-and-off on the list over the years... Kiron is better known as a manufacturer of microscopes ... and last known as the people who made the Vivitar series 1 lenses from the 80s into the early 90s. Better , I've heard, than the later contract manufacturer, who made them in Korea. Two lenses which come to mind as having been made by them are the Vivitar S1 28-90/2.8-3.5, and the Vivitar S1 70-210/3.5 Date: Tue, 13 Mar 2001 07:31:59 -0800 (PST) From: Peter Alling <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: What's a Kiron? Here's a page that contains a great deal of information about third party lenses with a sort of history since the 50's and 60's Kiron is mentioned as a good manufacturer. http://www.smu.edu/~rmonagha/third/index.html - --- dosk <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Saw: A Kiron lens for Pentax. 24mm, f2.
