What's the general opinion of this lens? Compared to the FA* 200mm f/2.8, F 100mm macro f/2.8 and the F 70-210mm f/4-5.6? What about the weight? And also if I can ask what you paid for yours used (of list if you want)? I'm trying to determine what a reasonable price is. Any info about this lens is appreciated.

Paul, I had the SMC-F 70-210 and have had the FA* 80-200 2.8 for 5 years and a half. Although the F 70-210 is the second best telephoto zoom I've ever owned or used, the FA 80-200 is still better. It is sharp and contrasty, and its only disadvantages are weight and price.
When I don't want to carry so much weight, I use an FA 80-320, which is a good lens, but not as good as the SMC-F 70-210 4-5.6.
I can't comment on the price of the lens in the second hand market, as I got it new, given by my wife as a belated birthday present.
