One of the things I discovered while running the PUG was that tags are really not optional. If you put in an opening tag and don't close it, you are asking for trouble. The same with head and body tags. Even excluding doc type tags can cause some browser configurations to kaak on the page. I think the problem is getting worse, not better, as the html language evolves too. William Robb
