I actually found my film scratcher in my camera using this method. I bought
a $1.49 roll of Gold 100, ran it through the camera enough frames to where I
know the problem would occur, opened the back without rewinding, and was
able to see the scratch on the undeveloped emulsion, located the exact
position in the body, and it got me within a few mm of the culprit.
