and some of the replys.  Look almost anywhere on the web and find
references to the Canon focus problems.  Some say it is a lot of fuss
about nothing - possibly they got lucky in the samples they got?  Who
knows, but there is some kind issue there which Canon don't seem to be
able/willing to deal with.  Its probably hard to judge how that will
affect you (if at all) until it is too late to change your mind.

(semi)K mount relates to the fact that older lenses without the auto
aperture setting on the ring will not meter as easily on the *ist.  I
think this is K and M lenses - A, F, FA etc are all OK.
