i have no idea where you read that there is any sensor cleaning going on in a P&S digital camera. there isn't any camera out there without a removeable lens that needs sensor cleaning. as for AF delay, take a picture in AF mode and take picture in MF mode. that's all you need to know. anything else is pure BS.
