i have had the Sigma 15-30 for over a year. i haven't taken any pictures
with it yet on the *ist D, just looked through the viewfinder. it is a bulky
lens and moderately heavy with good performance, better than entry level for
sure. it's not as good as the 24-90 though. one thing i discovered yesterday
while experimenting is that removing the cap portion of the two piece lens
cover doesn't vignette and so i can put thin 82mm filters on the lens.
otherwise, it's rear gelatin filters only. you'll understand what i mean if
you go and look at the lens cover in person.
