Compared to NiCd, NiMH pack a bit (30% to 50%) more capacity into the same volume and weight, but they give you a lower voltage during discharge (bad for applications that pull a bit of current), they self-discharge about three times faster, they don't work in freezing temperatures (nor do they like extreme heat), they must be replaced about three times as often, and they can't be charged nearly as fast. See <http://www.rcbatteryclinic.com/> for information on rechargeable batteries. (It's a site for radio control modelers, a group of people who really, really appreciate (and need) good batteries.) -tih -- Tom Ivar Helbekkmo, Senior System Administrator, EUnet Norway www.eunet.no T: +47-22092958 M: +47-93013940 F: +47-22092901
