Wrong, there are tons of new models of turntables
coming out and also tons of ultra high quality
reissue LPs. The high end audio market has spoken
and the winner IS NOT CD. CDs are a mass market
mid fi product to be played on crappy $300 compact
stereos....

This is surely a moot point. It is well nigh impossible to buy new LP
records and the equipment needed to play them. The reason is because the
marketplace has spoken, and the LP is out.
At the moment, the marketplace is talking about film vs. digital. As soon as
film loses, it's gone.
