Bob is quite right: The HAMA, like any rectangular hood, is not designed
for lenses that use a rototing front element.
HAMA markets the hood for focal lengths from 24mm through 35mm.It is
probably only marginally useful at reducing flare at the 35mm setting, but
it does serve to protect the lens.
I use only slim filters on my wides, and believe me, by the time you screw
one of these into the lens, there would be no filter ledge left for the
HAMA to clamp onto. Bob, would I be correct to deduce that your 24/2.8 was
designed with close-to-no "shelf" between the focusing ring and the filter?

I use the Hama rectangular on a 24mm f2.8. Works very well except for
on problem. If you have a filter on the lens it clamps onto the filter
rather than the lens barrel. ... Also, not sure how well such a hood would
work on a zoom, which is where
tulips are most useful, I believe. Especially a zoom with a rotating front.
