Hi,

I just did a few quick tests on a lens hood for the K24/2.8, and for
the time being I'm not going to buy the HAMA hood. I'd totally
forgotten to check the Nikon hood compatibility chart I made a while
back, and when I did I discovered that the Nikon HN-2 hood was
designed for the 24/2.8 Nikon lens. It's got a 52mm thread, and so
it fits the K24/2.8 just fine. It doesn't seem to vignette even
with a filter, but with two filters I see a little cut off at the
corners. This tells me that the hood does a good job, and blocks
stray light very close to the corner of the frame. Since the LX has
a pretty accurate viewfinder, I suspect there will be no loss at all
when viewing a frame exposed when using this hood and a filter. I
will be shooting some test film tomorrow just to verify this. Based
on results obtained when using other Nikon hoods on Pentax lenses, I
suspect that there will be no vignetting problem.

Based on the problems of using the HAMA hood with a filter, and the
fact that it can (according to some who've used it) easily get
knocked out of alignment, I think the Nikon HN-2 is probably a fine
choice.
