Sorry for the late reply (still churning through the back-log) however I'd like 
to add that no band member has ever balked at the size of my lens :-)

I usually use the non-tapered Heliopan hoods on mine, as low profile as it can 
get however I do occasionally use the large hood (makes it a bit more obtrusive 
which can be an advantage).
