I have toyed around with the odd digital but never really had the opportunity
to use one until this weekend. A friend recently purchased an Olympus Camedia
4.0 megapixel camera and gave it to me to shoot our daughters' synchro
skating team practise with while he videotaped it. I was very impressed with the
camera and the results. Lots of lag time, but the results were pretty good. I
shot more than 105 shots in about an hour. I would never have done that with
film. I must admit they are a heck of a lot of fun and a great way to burn film
(or should I say pixels.) I'm not here to promote the Olympus obviously, but
after using that high-end point and shoot I'm really wondering if something like
that would not satisfy 90 per cent of those of us who want a nice digital
camera. Although I like the Optio line for its size, they lack that serious camera
feel and look that the Olympus and other top makers have....
Just my 2 cents..
