This factors in the customer service too. I cannot comment on your experience with Adorama, though my co-worker had very similar experience with one of Israeli leading auctioning sites. Anyway, there has to be a reason why certain something costs less in shop A than in shop B. Normally, it is customer service that suffers first. My experience is purely Israeli, so perhaps it applies to USA with this note in mind. Finally, when I was looking for a shop where to buy my stuff, I saw some less-then-outstanding feedbacks about Adorama and chose B&H. I hadn't have a problem with them, though it was only one transaction... I don't think that customer service of internet based shops is going to get any better any soon.
