Perhaps what is not being thought about is that MF guys are already taking a hit on the long end. The 645/67 400mm is really much closer to a 200mm in 35mm format. So they could do the mental jump and say that now their lenses match the 35mm because of the same sensor size.
JCO is correct that there would be NO difference. If you are thinking as a MF only kind of person, you would think that your lenses suddenly got longer (almost 2 times). But they would be no different than a full frame 35mm DSLR. Just bigger and heavier. One other aspect that no one has mentioned is that MF guys usually are not shooters of long glass. They are shooting wides, normals and short tele's. They may not be very excited to suddenly lose their wides. My thought is that they would be much less excited about the change in focal length than the 35mm guys. I know I would have. Having big, heavy 55, 75, 90 lenses that are very unremarkable, not to mention relatively slow by 35mm standards, just doesn't seem like a great improvement over shooting a full frame 1DS. -- Best regards, Bruce Friday, December 12, 2003, 3:14:07 PM, you wrote: JCOC> not true is the problem, whether you crop a big image circle of JCOC> a 645 400mm lens or use the whole image circle JCOC> of a 35mm 400mm lens, the recorded result is the same, JCOC> no difference, not longer appearance , same appearance because JCOC> the focal length is the SAME and the sensor size is the SAME.
