First off let me say that I do feel bad not being able to buy a Pentax. Well I went to my favourite camera store to buy a pentax P&S Optio and came home with a Cannon powershot A60. I tried to buy Pentax but they just did not offer what I was looking for. A) Reasonably priced digital Point and Shoot. (Read low Megapixels) B) Decent optical zoom lens range C) Fully auto with the Ability to go all manual (very important) D) Good macro mode E) Good build quality
The camera is certainly aimed at the whole family (especially my teenage daughter) for snapshooting. I plan to use it more as a polaroid subsititution for exposures and fun stuff. I will use my 35 mm gear for anything serious. I went into the store to buy Pentax but from what I saw they offered nothing in this category. I very well could have missed something in the Pentax line that offers these features and I'm sure all of you will tell me about it. The camera store certainly did not have every camera Pentax offered. I played with it for about an hour yesterday and was very impressed. It even allows you to look at the pics directly on the TV. a nice feature. So I guess I joined the brotherhood (well sort of) Vic
