G'day Ryan. Mate thanks for the MZ history lesson. It has been very informative.
A mate here in Grafton has a MZ-7 for sale. There is a MZ-30 on ebay.com.au And a MZ-5 on ebay.com And a MZ-5n on ebay.com I am ditching the MZ-60. It's no good for serious photography in my opinion.
You're right in ditching. But the story you just told makes it looks rather different.
If there's a "mate here in Grafton" then perhaps you could meet them and ask them to give you a camera for a trial shoot. Bring with you 12 exp film, load it, shoot it on location, hand the camera back and have the film developed.
This way I think you will hurt (if not kill <g>) several birds with one stone -
1. You would actually handle the darn thing and see whether it fits you.
2. You would be able to try various shutter speeds and see how shutter's doing.
3. You would also be able to see how it focuses and so on.
4. You may want to try to take some shoots with built-in flash just to make sure it works.
5. Generally, you would be able to try it before you buy it!
I do assume that either that mate or you have at least one AF lens nearby...
HTH.
