I also managed to get two new LX screens (SE-60 & SC-69) from Japan,
with the help of a listmember. Thank you, you know who you are !
I had a little time to test last night and installed the SE-60 in place
of the Beattie screen I had on the LX. The new screen is simply fantastic!
Subjects pop into sharp focus like the snap of fingers. The new screen is
also lovely bright and ultra smooth (practically no grain). If the new MZ-S
screens are like this.. who needs AF ??? I think the (P)Z-1(p) screens are
not this good.
I then used a couple of different lenses and noticed that even with
the SMC 15/3.5 the new screen gives me wonderful brightness from
corner to corner. The older LX screens have problems with the
ultra-wide-angles in the dark. This is one reason why I have
mostly used the Beattie before (plus it has a grid). The Beattie
is nicely bright but is also very grainy (and not too easy to focus).
Anyone wanna buy the Beattie for the LX ??
