Short Answer: Thanks for all the suggestions!

Longer Rant, more typical of me:
You know, sometimes we get so caught up in the nuances and technicalities
of things, that the obvious becomes invisible! In particular, Mr. Dayton
blurted out:

~ PaintShop Pro has a color balance technique where
~ there is a sliding scale with color temperature.
~ You just slide it along to get the color shift you want
~ from yellow to blue (basically).

And I thought... (duh...) can it really be that simple? So I opened up MS
Photodraw [i.e., photoshop for dummies... I love that program!], opened a
file (I shoot in JPG mode, by the way), clicked color correction, slid the
yellow/blue dial to yellow... slid the cyan/red dial to red... and bam.
done! total time, about 15 seconds. photo was just fine. unbelievable.

The absurd part is I keep wondering about what I wrote in the first email:

~ spent an afternoon shifting the colors
~ manually in my favorite photo editor

Now the question is, What in Dougs name took me an entire afternoon to fix
that other photo?! But I think it was that memory that had me convinced it
was supposed to be something difficult. <shrug> Still stinks that I can't
do it in batch... but it sure is better than nothing. And I was this close
--> <-- to trashing those photos.

Anyhow... thanks again!

Oh... and Happy New Year, albeit a week or so early. Best Regards,
