until recently, just about everything anyone posted assumed sRGB because that is what digital cameras put out. scans might be all over the place depending on the source, but i worked in sRGB for scans for quite a while because that is all that the software supported. i forgot to convert color space when i posted my PUG submission, otherwise i would have followed the crowd. it makes a lot of difference. head over to the Digital Preview site and check the last couple of sections of the reviews of any camera that supports Adobe RGB. you can get a feel for what the differences are between sRGB and Adobe RGB from their samples. since my monitor is calibrated and i work in a dark room, it's easy to get the same light as i do. turn off the lights.
